Catching Up

It’s been a couple of weeks since my last post and there has been lots going on. First, the bathroom makeover was finally completed and I’m even pretty happy with it. Even better is the fact that Jane is happy with it.

We have also put down the laminate flooring in the master bedroom. Goodbye to the ugly patched green carpet that was in there when we bought the house.

That pretty much finishes all our major indoor projects we wanted to do. Now we’ll concentrate on the outside. Sometime over the next couple of years we’re going to need to look into siding the house and building a deck or fixing up the patio.

I’ve been doing odds and ends wood working projects lately. With the table saw and miter saw, Jane has a whole list of projects she would like me to do. So far I’ve done a towel rack and a shelf unit for the bathroom. I’ve also build a headboard for our bed and a new valance for the living-room windows. Next on the list are some corner shelves for the kitchen, a blanket box and a coffee table for the family room. I actually enjoy these projects. Working with wood is something I always enjoyed and it’s nice to be able to get back into doing it.

School has been keeping both of us busy. My final exam is on 05/07 and Jane’s is on 05/14. Both of us have been doing well and are maintaining an A grade. I’m going to try to CLEP out of the second English class otherwise I’ll be taking it in the fall. We decided against summer classes: hiking, grilling and outdoor projects take priority.

Speaking of hiking, we’re hoping this weekend will finally be the time for us to get out for our first hike this year. We’ll head out to either William O’Brian or Lake Maria. Hopefully we’ll also have a chance to get the bikes out of the shed and ready for use.

Later, Kenadian

  1. So, are you inviting any of your friends to go hiking/biking with you?

  2. Any and all are welcome to come. Maybe we can get together and grill up some dinner afterwards.

  3. Sounds like fun!
